The Civil Resolution Tribunal is the first area of the justice system that has been co-designed with the public through frequent consultation and user testing. The CRT has incorporated feedback from extensive consultation with strata (condominium) stakeholders, as well as community legal advocates, the legal community, mediators, and the public.
The CRT has also established an advisory council and several working groups.
The CRT’s working groups, among others, have contributed to the conceptual design of the tribunal and its processes. These groups have included members of the development team, representatives of key stakeholders in the strata and justice communities as well as individuals from tribunals, businesses, community helpers, students and self-represented litigants.
We are also consulting and collaborating with the B.C. Provincial Court, in preparation to begin accepting small claims disputes in the near future.
